i kind of adore my job today. honestly, i love it most days. but today especially, i had the feeling that i was a part of something really great.

one of the perks of being a federal employee is getting all the bogus federal holidays off. so mr. c is working from home today and is graciously making a trip to the store forĀ things i forgot last night. i just wrote:
could you also maybe get some nestle tollhouse break + bake cookies? i have the urge to eat my feelings.

the payoff
i worked a ton this week. hours-wise, i almost didn’t need to be there today. but things-to-do-wise, i was there at 7:45 anyway.
so this afternoon, i got to head out a few hours early. riley and i just finished seven warm, crisp, sun-drenched miles. shorts and a t-shirt run, you guys! that’s how nice it is today.
so worth it.
