weekend in asheville | part 1 | mostly brews
saturday: our first stop was the blue ridge parkway, and it took us no time at all to find a good walking trail to enjoy for a couple hours. next, we headed to asheville brewing company for a couple beers outside [houdini extra special pale for me, ninja porter for him].
and what are those, tequila shots? i have no idea what that’s about.
sunday: we headed to lexington avenue brewery, a new-ish place downtown, to try out their brews. a flight turned into a pitcher which turned into brunch. i was pretty pleased with most of their beers [except for the whitey, but i’m also just not a huge white ale fan] and we really enjoyed our pitcher of black lab ipa.
our last brewery stop was the wedge, in the river arts district. i had been once before and enjoyed it very much, so i insisted we make it down there. we had small tastes of three beers, which were all delicious [though the website isn’t updated, so i can’t tell you the names], then settled on the saison which i just love.
we also ate a lot of fantastic food and obviously, attended a fabulous wedding, both of which will get their own posts.
